Iker Casillas: "We want to win all four titles"

The goalkeeper of Real Madrid and the Spanish national team, Iker Casillas, who is visiting Houston to establish a new program for the Real Madrid sports schools in collaboration with BBVA Compass, said the goals achieved are not going to limit the new goals about which he already thinks for next season with Real Madrid and Spanish national team.

"I want to do better than the last season. Next season will also be long and Real Madrid wants to achieve the four titles we have in mind; the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona, to win again the Spanish league, to reach and win the final of the Champions League and the Spanish Cup (Copa del Rey). In addition, of course, I think about the Spanish team and I want to enjoy and get the Confederations Cup in Brazil" explained the Spanish international goalkeeper.

In assessing what the new season ahead can bring, Casillas admitted that Real Madrid and Barcelona are the favorites: "We are the champions and have good chances. What happens is that in recent years Real Madrid and Barcelona have always been the two teams that have excelled over others and maybe that was a problem to Spanish football" assessed Casillas. "The crisis has meant that not every team can sign what they want, but ultimately they reinforce increasingly better".

About the leaving of Pep Guardiola from FC Barcelona, and its impact in the Spanish league, Casillas said it was something that does not worry him: "I do not know what to say about this. I respect what Guardiola and Barcelona have done, but what interests me is Real Madrid, and what interests me is that Real Madrid comes to get all the possible titles" Casillas said.

Real Madrid goalkeeper thinks that the beginning of the new season with his team facing Valencia is a good match and ideal to start the season at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium: "Real Madrid vs Valencia is always an interesting match. We are two teams that always play good football and Valencia at the Bernabeu has made us things very difficult" commented Casillas.

The captain of Spain said that despite the promotional trips he had rested and somehow began to miss the competition: "The professional footballer who is out of sport for the holidays, does not take long to feel again the need to return to play" said Casillas.

About the achievements of the last European Championship with Spain, Casillas admitted that they aimed to get the title but also were aware that the mission would be very complicated: "We went with that idea, to return to win the title, but we knew it would not be easy, even though many people demanded that we had to win with that team. Besides, the other teams were stronger. Four years ago Spain, perhaps, was the surprise. Now the other national teams play against us in a very different way" Casillas analyzed.

Euro 2012 champions Spain Candidates

World Sport News - Euro 2012 champions Spain Candidates
Many a candidate will emerge as champions Spain Euro 2012. England coach Fabio Capello also agree with these predictions. With a myriad of talents that are owned, Capello believes Spain will exert every effort to maintain the European title.

However, the former Juventus and AC Milan pelarih did not dismiss the notion that if the Netherlands is one of the best teams with Portugal and Germany are joined in Group B. In fact, Capello has a valuation, Seleccao das Quinas-nickname Portugal could appear surprising.

"I think Spain is always a favorite. They are the best team in the world today. So also the Netherlands, a good team. Perhaps, you may find some surprises when I think about the surprises, I think Portugal (can make surprises)," said Capello was quoted Goal.

Turning to group D, in which the UK will each scuffled with France, Ukraine and Sweden, Capello does not deny, The Three Lions are in a complex group in which France as the strongest challenger and ready to tackle on their steps in the group phase.

"It's not easy group. Sure, the game against France (very difficult). We lost to them at Wembley (in a friendly) and they are very good," said Capello said.

However, Capello remains high confidence, the players get past the obstacles the British competitors in group D. "I believe the team and my players. They are all still young. I think, they can provide a lot of things," complete Capello.

Capello Ready to Leave England After the Euro

Fabio Capello seems to have been rounded to not renew his contract with the England team. Regardless of any outcome that harvested England at Euro 2012, Capello will still lift the foot.

"Yes, with England," Capello said when asked whether Euro 2012 would be his last tournament with the Three Lions.

Capello's statement was disclosed after he attended the Euro 2012 draw in Kiev, Ukraine. British themselves are in Group D along with hosts Ukraine, Sweden and France.

"I think the most terrifying Group B. Group A nicer. (Group D) to be the most balanced group," said Capello.

When mentioned about the strongest opponents in Group D, Capello blurted directly mention French. Laurent Blanc's team made Capello will be intense.

"Against France, it will be a fierce match as this will be the first game. Usually the first game will be very difficult," continued the Italian man.

"It will be a difficult game for us and also for France. The third match (against host Ukraine) also will be a difficult match," added Capello.

THE MOURINHO - RAMOS "SPLIT" | QUESTION OF WINNING OR LOSING

REAL MADRID Coach José Mourinho left defender SERGIO RAMOS on the bench for the Champions League match against Manchester City on Tuesday & that has ignited the "speculation" fuel can. Most observers interpret the move as a "punishment" & a call to attention by the Coach towards one of the "heavyweight" dressing room players. The actual protagonists have only limited themselves in explaining that it was a tactical move & nothing more. José Mourinho even commented post match that there are no bad vibes with the 26 year old International & second Team Captain.

Said all this, the substitute RAFAEL VARANE was absolutely splendid on the night & unfortunately instead of most of us exalting the virtues & class of this young French defender we are again intertwined with rumours & internal conflicts talk.

Veteran Spanish Football Observer, Alfredo Duro,  voiced on Spanish TV last night that there is effectively a serious split between Coach Mourinho & Sergio Ramos which may be difficult to repair, at least in the short-term. His explanations are that both personalities have worn themselves out, Mourinho favours some players ( the "Portugues pack" ) , that there is increasing distrust between both ( methods & play) & that the player is feed up with him being singled out every time there is a problem on the field.   The fact is that Sergio Ramos is an outspoken man & does not bite his tongue or follow strictly the "Mourinho Doctrine". Alfredo Duro went on to say that it is the high professional attitude of Sergio Ramos that has allowed this situation to continue without effecting the team as he puts the latter first & infront of his personal attitudes. Sounds admirable, & I suppose there is some "propaganda" thrown in as well. When Coach Mourinho comments publically that "some players"  have their heads elsewhere apart from Football, there is a reason. Plus when you watch the videos & analyze the defensive mistakes, Ramos is somehow involved directly or indirectly. In a nutshell there currently exists all the ingredients for the media to have a field day & sell lots of papers & Tv time. Not to mention the multiple enemies that José Mourinho has build up over his time in Spain, many waiting to sick the knife in deeply.

Real Madrid 2012Sergio Ramos
Obviously there is tension between personalities,  & some  dressing room territorial battles of egos & prestige. Also there is real possibilities that if this is not - or other situations - managed properly that the dressing room could explode & the 2012-2013 with it. The above Football journalists goes as far to say that at the end of the season there will be a "either he goes or I go situation". Daring prediction I would say with more than 8 months left of the season & anything could happen . Imagine if Real Madrid wins Champions League? Will anyone remember this incident? This post?

With this in the air some European Clubs smell opportunity & are already positioning themselves for the possibility of getting over the 26 year old who is considered one of the "Best Central Defenders" in World Football. The market price is conservatively valued at 50M€ & it seems that CHELSEA FC maybe preparing something.  They & Manchester City, perhaps Manchester United & some say the Russian "petrol" dollar Clubs.

I say the following , Ramos will be lined up this weekend against RAYO VALLECANO in Liga & if a victory occurs the waters will settle. Here is the point, winning is the glue that keeps things together, defeat separates & opens wounds, in the Ramos case & in every Football case. If Real Madrid can regain a winning streak this will be another "hiccup", if they lose & lose in big competitions the dressing room & Real Madrid will burst apart taking players & causing victims.

Lastly, if a Club came with +50M€ for Ramos at the end of the season , I would sell. There is a fabulous defender waiting for his regular chance called Rafael Varane who is a marvel to watch.  Potentially much better with more class than Ramos.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Group matches continued tonight with Spanish Football Teams playing in Group G & F respectively. Here are the final results & the scorers.

Tello 2012Tello
FC BARCELONA
hosted their Group G "mates" Russian Club SPARTAK MOSCOW Coached by ex-Valencia & Spanish Coach Unai Emery. The final result was 3 - 2 & the match had some coincidences to the Real Madrid match yesterday with comeback.  Barça can be said to have deserved the victory as they played better but went through some nervous & suffering moments as the Russian were at one stage leading in the scoreline.

The opener came via TELLO for Barcelona in the 13th min. The young player put in a great performance tonight & was applauded when taken off for Villa around the 70th min. Moscow equalized with a DANI ALVES own goal in the 28th min.

Then the surprise in the 59th min when Spartak went ahead with a goal from ROMULO, however ( once again ) MESSI came to the rescue with two goals - 71st min & 80th min - to secure things & the three points

Bad news of the night was the injury to Barça defender Gerard Pique in the 11th min, the player may miss the Liga "Clasico" match against Real Madrid coming up soon.

Valencia CFBayern Munich scores
BAYERN MUNICH defeated an absent VALENCIA CF 2 - 1 in their Group F clash. The Germans dominanted most of the game & scored two goals via SCHWEINSTEIGER in the 38th min & KROSS in the 76th min with a lovely goal.  Valencia managed a consolation goal in the end via VALDEZ in the 91st min.

Valencia CF avoided a penalty when goalie Alves stopped Mandzukic in the 93rd min.

Bad night for Valencia which offered bad Football with lots of mistakes that the Germans exploited to secure their three points.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE | GROUP C GROUP D | REAL MADRID - MALAGA FC WIN

Two Spanish Clubs were in action tonight in their respective CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Group qualifying games. REAL MADRID hosted MANCHESTER CITY in their Group D encounter & MALAGA FC was making history as they hosted Russian Club ZENIT in their Group C meeting.

Champions League 2012Dzeko
REAL MADRID transformed itself tonight to exhibit everything positive that has been missing in their last couple of matches. An epic performance with comeback included to defeat MANCHESTER CITY 3 - 2 & down to the wire.

Coach Mourinho surprised leaving Sergio Ramos & Ozil on the bench, with Essien & Varane starting. The latter put in a fantastic performance defending like a veteran & calm at all times under extreme pressure.

Real Madrid was intense & aggressive tonight & that showed in their performance as they created multiple chances to score. The best player for Manchester City in the first half was goalkeeper Hart & that in itself says it all. The goalie kept out Ronaldo, Higuain, Marcelo & two other clear occasion to keep the English team alive.

The second half was the same until Madrid lost the ball in their own half & Toure made a magnificent run to find DZEKO alone in the 68th min to score the opener. Cold water over Real Madrid who must have seen past ghosts.

Champions league 2012Marcelo
However, tonight was not the Real Madrid team of past & the group looked to redeem the mistake with more attacking Football. Then MARCELO who had been dangerous all night & with missed goal attempts finally got the ball into the net with a 76th min equalizer.

Champions league 2012CR7
Manchester City were not daunted & awaited patiently for another chance, which came from a set piece free kick that KOLAROV took & passed through everyone to somehow find the back of the Casillas goal. Very unlucky to say the least & moral breaking for the Spanish team which was dominate & deserved something more.

Coach Mourinho risked & put on Modric & Benzema in an attempt to find the goal & at least equlaize. What he found instead was a comeback that will be talked about for days as Real Madrid suffocated Manchester City in their own half until BENZEMA found space just outside the square & riffled the equalizer in the 87th min. Precision.

From here no one could have thought that the best was still to come, when CRISTIANO RONALDO shook off Zabaleta & powered a shot pass & under goalie Hart for the third & winner in the 90th min. Blew the roof off the stadium & Ronaldo was back in favour with the Real Madrid fans & I would say happy again.

Fantastic night of Football & important victory for Madrid in a very difficult Group.

Champions league 2012Isco

MALAGA FC made its debut in CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Group C hosting the Russian team ZENIT & looked more like they have always played in the competition. The Spanish Club defeated the Russian 3 - 0 in an impressive debut that will light up the city of Malaga all night with the glow of happiness from their fans.

Deserved victory as Malaga had the initiative & created the Football with a grey Zenit that disappointed. ISCO was the star with two magnificent goals - 2 nd & 76th min - along with SAVIOLA who scored in the 12th min.

Great night for Spanish Football & congratulations to Malaga!

SPANISH FOOTBALL MONDAY NIGHT ROUND 4 RESULT

Last game of Round 4 of the SPANISH LEAGUE - LA LIGA played this Monday night between VALLADOLID & REAL BETIS.

Spanish Liga 2012

The game ended 0 - 1 in Betis favour which would have disappointed Valladolid which had clear moments & chances to score goals.

Both sides deserve a mention & a pat on the back as they looked for the ball & wanted to play possession Football. However, the ball was hard to win & dominant as the midfield was a true "battleground" for both teams. Tough stuff in the centre tonight.

Valladolid hit the post in the 3rd min, & Betis goalie Casto stopped the home side multiple occasions at goal. The winning goal came in the last moment from a Valladolid goalie mistake ( Jaime ) that allowed RUBEN CASTRO to score in the 89th min.

Valladolid may have played better, but were punished severely because they could take their chances during the whole encounter. That´s Football.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA | ROUND 4 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

SPANISH FOOTBALL continued this Sunday with the remaining Round 4 matches of LA LIGA with the following final results & goalscorers.

Spanish Football La Liga 2012Flores scores

GRANADA drew 1 - 1 against DEPORTIVO A CORUÑA in a hard fought out match that included a "phantom goal" not given to Deportivo.

The first goal came from a sloppy defensive back pass mistake with Granada goalie involved when OLIVIERA scored for Deportivo in the 40th min. From here onwards Deportivo had numerous chances but kept bouncing into the Granada goalie which stopped all attempts. Then Granada pushed forward & were rewarded when Italian FLORO FLORES equalized in the 81st min.

Spanish Football La Liga 2012Fran Llorente
RCD ESPANYOL let slip a victory chance over ATHLETIC CLUB BILBAO when the latter made a comeback to finish the game with a 3 - 3 draw.

Espanyol started strong with goals from LOPEZ in the 17th min & VERDU in the 43rd min, but Bilbao pulled back in the 55th min via ADURIZ & FRAN LLORENTE who came on as a substitute equalized in the 71st min.

Very competitive up to this point, & Espanyol scored the third & got ahead via LONGO in the 80th min & looked set for the three points. But Bilbao managed to equalize again via ADURIZ in the 83rd min for his second & team saver.

Espanyol Coach Pochettino was sent off , a sign of the nerves & tension of the match.

Spanish Football La Liga 2012Hemed
OSASUSA drew with REAL MALLORCA 1 - 1 in a hard fought out match that included a red card each when Osasuna forward Llorente elbowed Mallorca defender Nunes & the latter reacted violently.  The struggle continued until SOLA scored for Osasuna in the 69th min to which HEMED equalized in the 78th min. Even result & shared points.

Spanish Football La Liga 2012Real Sociedad - Real Zaragoza
REAL SOCIEDAD managed the victory over visiting Club REAL ZARAGOZA with two moments of brilliance that gave them the 2 - 0 winning result. In general the game was not exciting & was more tactical , not to mention lacking spectacle, until IÑIGO MARTINEZ scored in the 55th min & VELA scored a penalty in the 61st min.

Spanish Football 2012Falcao
ATLETICO DE MADRID defeated 4 - 3 fellow city Club RAYO VALLECANO suffering, especially after being 4 - 0 at the 55th min. In fact Rayo Vallecano nearly pulled off the equalizing miracle that would have been a disaster for Atletico after 60 min of perfect Football.

Up to the collapsing moment, Atletico scored via MARIO SUAREZ ( 29th min), KOKE ( 49th min ) , ARDA ( 51 st min ) & FALCAO via a penalty ( 55 min ). Then the complacency & a drastic drop in concentration levels allowed Rayo to dominant & call all the shots.

Rayo player DELIBASIC scored twice in the 82nd & 85th min & LEO in the 89th min, which made the "balls" of the Atletico fans rise up to their throats. Thanks to the heavens that the referee blew the whistle. Their will be some firm shouting ( screaming )  in the Atletico dressing room from Coach Simeone no doubt.
